Recipe For Success:

Anyone who has ever prepared a meal can tell you that the key to any recipe is choice ingredients. The same is true of the recipe for school success. In the case of Ramer Elementary School, we are proud of every ingredient used to prepare OUR students for success in all areas of life.

With a standing history of outstanding performance, we have had the opportunity to try many different approaches to create success. Over the decades, adding programs, eliminating others, and commitment to strong principles of hard work and innovativeness, we have reached a point where continued success is expected.

Our school’s vision is to develop lifelong learners and responsible, productive citizens through a quality education.

Among our key ingredients for that quality education are the following:

  • A commitment to providing professional development utilizing test data to determine strategies for effectiveness is a high priority for our personnel. We place strong emphasis on instruction correlated with state standards in all classes.
  • All grade-level teachers are given common planning time to allow for collaboration of methods; Grade-level meetings are conducted to address specific concerns and discuss plans—giving teachers an opportunity to be in contact and share ideas with others in the same department or subject area.
  • Project E.N.R.I.C.H.—(Expanding Neighborhood Resources Involving Community Hands) is our highly successful after-school program available for all students in PreK5-8 th grade—offering homework assistance and tutoring using Think Link Assessment data as a determinant of student strengths and deficiencies.
  • The Accelerated Reader Program was implemented in all grades to encourage students to nurture a love for reading.
  • Strong family and community support provides a foundation for success in all areas.

These key ingredients, as well as many others, are complemented by healthy doses of compassion and commitment, stirred into a wide array of opportunities, and simmered with support and encouragement, creating a pleasing product.

We, at Ramer Elementary School, believe in our students. By expecting success and providing the “ingredients” necessary for success, we are able to surpass many goals we set for ourselves. A highly-qualified, committed group of teachers and administrators, along with a support staff with genuine interest in our students is something we are very proud of! We plan to keep doing the things we are doing with our eyes constantly open for fresh, new ingredients to add additional flavor to an already GREAT recipe!
